- Neotype: NUPECCE 094, subadult ♂, skin, skull and skeleton. [designated by Sandoval et al. (2022: 455)]
- Type locality: not cited, restricted to “Mirador, Vera Cruz” by Hershkovitz (1951), redesignated by neotype designation to “municipality of Zongolica in Veracruz, in a location called San José Acualco, coordinates 18°38′53″N and 96°56′57″W, 45.7 km away from the type location, city of Mirador in the state of Veracruz, Mexico”.
