- Holotype: USNM 393532 (field no. 5054), adult ♂,skin and skull, collected by R.H. Pine on 14 June 1968.
- Type locality: “"Nova Area Experimental", Utinga (the wooded area surrounding the Belém waterworks), Belém (1°27'S, 48°29' W), Pará, Brazil”.
