Name[edit]
Holotype: NGMC-97-4-15, a fully articulated skeleton in a dorsal view with hair and body contour impressions.
Type locality and horizon: Lower part of the Lower Jurassic Yixian Formation, also referred to as the Chaomidianzi member of the Yixian Formation approximately 30 km east of Chaoyang, Liaoning Province, NE China.
