- Holotype: BMNH 1908.2.5.70 (microscope slide 1908.2.5.70a), collected by National Antarctic Expedition 1901–04, HMS Discovery.
- Type locality: “Winter Quarters, Ross Sea, Antarctica, 18–27 m”.
