  • Type locality: Russia. Subpolar Urals Mountains (National Park 'Yugyd Va'), 65.317 N; 60.516 E, elevation: 989 m.
  • Holotype: Novakovskaya; 23 July 2010; Carex-moss-lichen tundra (mixed soil–algae); Institute of Biology of Komi Science Centre of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IB FRC Komi SC UB RAS) (SYKOA), Syktyvkar, Russia; SYKO No. 1015 R (Resin-embedded specimen for TEM). Reference strain: SYKOA Ch-009-10 (isolated into culture by Novakovskaya), deposited in the Culture Collection of Algae of the Institute of Biology under the number SYKOA Ch-009-10.
