Name

Heterocaryum A.DC., Prodr. 10: 144 (1846) [ emend. Saadati et al. (2017)]

• Type species: Heterocaryum laevigatum A.DC., Prodr. 10: 145 (1846).
  

Note: Saadati et al. (2017) segregated Pseudoheterocaryum from this genus on phylogenetic grounds, but did not satisfactorily treat all accepted combinations under Heterocaryum hence their proposal to leave this genus as monotypic is not accepted.
