This circumscription follows APG IV and subsumes all previous families into Boraginaceae s.l. with them re-circumscribed as subfamilies or tribes. However, see the alternative Luebert et al., (2016) and Stevens et al., (2016) for a contrary view, but also note they use Namaceae, which has not been formally published and so can not be used here.
