• Holotype: MBM 286038, collected by cruise RV Ke Xue (ROV Faxian) on 18 December 2014.
• Type locality: “Yap seamount near Yap Trench (8°54.739448’N, 137°48.118972’E); 1113 m depth”.
• Paratypes (4): MBM 286039, “Mariana seamount near Mariana Trench, (11°21’11.265”N, 139°20’29.473”E); 930.6 m depth”, coll. on 18 March 2016; MBM 286040, “Mariana seamount near Mariana Trench (11°17’11.432”N, 139°22’51.790”E); 889.9 m depth”, coll on 21 March 2016; MBM 286542, “Mariana seamount near Mariana Trench (11°16’45.371”N, 139°25’57.588”E); 1109.7 m depth”, coll. on 27 March 2016; MBM 286041, “Caroline seamount located at the south of Mariana Trench and the North of Yap Trench (140°09’21.924”E, 10°23’39.574”N); 1372.5 m depth”, coll. on 14 August 2017.
• Etymology: derived from the Chinese name of the scientific research vessel (Ke Xue) that obtained the samples during seamount surveys.
