- Holotype: LIVCM 1986.212.84, subadult ♀, skin and skull, collected by the Harenna Forest Expedition on 7 August 1986.
- Type locality: “in Schefflera/Hagenia forest at Katcha Camp (06°42'N 39°44'E), 2400 m, Harenna Forest, Bale Province, Ethiopia”.
