- Type locality: BORNEO: Sabah, Danum Valley, Borneo Rainforest Lodge, Flight interception trap.
- Holotype: Collection Guillaume de Rougemont, London, ♂, 14-16.II.2007, G. de Rougemont leg.
- Etymology: The species is called "smaller" for its small body size in comparison with the species described above.
