- Holotype: BMNH 1946.1.17.91, juvenile indet., presented by T.E. Cantor between 1834–1839, via British East India Comp.
- Type locality: “Chirra Punji, Indicorum [=Cherrapunji]”, East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya State, India.
