Brachytydeus viviparus (Thor, 1931)

  • Type locality: in Norway
  • Holotype: Lost. (After Thor's death, his entire collection was destroyed in accordance with his will.)


  • Retetydeus viviparus, original combination
  • Lorryia vivipara, subsequent combination proposed by Baker (1968: 991)
  • Brachytydeus viviparus, subsequent combination resulting from observations and generic synonymies made by André (2005: 990, 996)


  • Species recorded in France by Grandjean (1938: 593–594), probably the oldest leg chaetotaxy published for Tydeidae.
  • Listed as "ancient species" by Kaźmierski (1998: 357)
