Name[edit]

Holotype: not designated; based on pl. 15 in Paterson (1790: 109).

Type locality: “between Deepe Kloaf, or Water Val, and Great, or Sea Fountain, country of the Hottentots, and Caffraria [= Cape of Good Hope]”, restricted to “McDougall’s Bay (2916BD), Little Namaqualand, Northern Cape Prov., South Africa” by Branch (1999: 53).
