Neotype: ZRC 4.1143, adult ♀, skin and skull. [designated by Robinson & Kloss (1918)]

Type locality: “in the mountainous districts that separate the Residencies of Palembang and Bencoolen in Sumatra”, restricted to “Sungei Kumbang, Korinchi, West Sumatra” [= Sungai Kumbang, Gunung Kerinci, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia], at 4700 feet [= 1433 m]”, by Robinson & Kloss (1918).
