Name[edit]

Holotype:

Type loclaity: “In Paraguaya” although Azara wrote (1802:94) “en los 30 1⁄2 grados de latitude,” erroneously interpreted as “301⁄2° (= latitude of Entre Ríos) Argentina” by Tate (1932: 26; see also Cabrera 1961: 440); Pardiñas et al. (2007: 401) reviewed the available evidence and corrected the type locality to “São Gabriel (30°19′S, 54°19′W, 118 m) . . . in the Brazilian State of Rio Grande do Sul.”
