- Type locality: CHINA: Sichuan, Qingcheng-Shan, NW Chengdu, 650–700 m, 30.53.57N, 103.32.23E.
- Holotype: Volker Assing private collection, ♂, 3.–4.VI.1997, M. SCHÜLKE.
- Etymology: The specific epithet (Latin, adjective: of an eagle) alludes to the resemblance of the ventral process of the aedeagus to the beak of an eagle.
