Name[edit]

Wesserpeton evansae Sweetman & Gardner, 2012

Holotype: NHMUK PV R36521, substantially complete fused frontals (Fig. 3C, 4A, 12D).
Type locality: Bed 38 (Radley 1994) occurring about 4 m below the top of the Wessex Formation, exposed at Yaverland on the south-east coast of the Isle of Wight, southern England, NGR SZ 61693 85223 (Figs. 1, 2).
Etymology: For Professor Susan E. Evans (University College London) in recognition of her outstanding contributions in the field of microvertebrate palaeontology and to the author's understanding of Albanerpetontidae.
