BASEPAGENAME

Hi again. Thanks for your recurring and very welcome contributions, however please note that per a Village Pump poll result Wikispecies no longer recommend the use of the {{BASEPAGENAME}} magic word on taxon pages (except when added automatically by the MediaWiki system software and/or through automated templates). The same is true for similar magic words like {{PAGENAME}}, {{FULLPAGENAME}} and {{SUBPAGENAME}}. The reasons for this can be found in the argumentation accompanying the above mentioned poll, as well as in several earlier discussions (some of them linked to from the poll). It all boils down to fairly rare and technical issues where certain page moves may lead to problems such as double redirects – or more commonly broken redirects or worse – for instance if a subspecies is elevated to a full species of its own, or moved to another parent taxon altogether. But in practice the solution is very straightforward: simply add the full page name instead, like this, and all is fine and dandy! Kind regards, Tommy Kronkvist (talk), 06:45, 7 December 2017 (UTC).

Dasyvalgus

I can't fathom your urge to reshuffle Dasyvalgus, (s. str.) being an adequate representation for Sensu Stricto species unless you keep a grudge against me from times long past. Mariusm (talk) 05:17, 4 January 2018 (UTC)

Not sure what you mean by a grudge, but, anyway, I just tidied it up so that it was easier to see what was going on (bear in mind that you as the writer knew what you meant, but it may not be obvious to the reader), and easier to modify in future. Pachyrhynchus möllendorffi

This species is an official name. See [1]. I know that it may be have to change in Pachyrhynchus moellendorffi. But who am I.PeterR (talk) 09:15, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
