Arabis cobrensis[edit]

Hello. Most North American species of Arabis are now circumscribed in Boechera. Therefore I have reverted your edit. Please look through all the references on Boechera and related genera. See particularly, Al-Shehbaz, I.A. (2003) and Brassibase. Please contact me via my talk page if you wish to discuss. Andyboorman (talk) 21:41, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Andy, you're right. To be honest: I'm not interested in 'Arabis', but in such cases I'm wondering where other wikis should link to: An outdated redirecting page or the other one that doesn't exist yet. When generating my maintenance lists for several wikis I didn't check by now for the existence of a target of a redirect... Best, --Achim (talk) 21:51, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Achim. I only have just around to this redirect mess with Arabis. We have a major problem with orphans here on WS due to a bot creating good species, but not linked to their genera. This has created numerous orphans, which I am trying to sort out for plant combinations. Much to my frustration! Sorry that you have got caught up in this mess. Best regards Andyboorman (talk) 21:59, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Andy, I'm not yet done with all of my db reports (wikisource, wiktionary etc. are still missing), but if a linkfixing bot did run on en:wp it might happen that it fixed the link on en:Boechera cobrensis according to the redirect here on WS. The next db query would report that link as pointing to a non-existing page on WS and the bot would remove the link. So it finally won't link to no WS page. I think here a page move would be better, if necessary a boiler plate "warning, data not adjusted" could be added. But that might break other links inside WS I guess. Go to bed now, regards, --Achim55 (talk) 22:25, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I disabled searching for redirects, only links to disambigs and non-existing pages are listed. --Achim55 (talk) 20:07, 2 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
