- Holotype: ZFMK 73963, subadult ♂, collected by David Modrý, Jan R. Slapeta and Jiri Volf on 11 February 2001.
- Type locality: “Kosi Kosi (02°07’25’’ N, 036°51’01’’ E), on top of Mount Nyiru (alt. 2650 m a.s.l.), Northern Frontier Division of Kenya”.
