Thamnophis saurita saurita (Linnaeus, 1766)

  • Holotype: unknown, presumed lost.
  • Neotype: FMNH 73119, adult ♀, collected by John Quinby on 20 July 1953. [designated by Schmidt & Conant (1956-57)]
  • Type locality: “Carolina”, redesigned by neotype designation to “15 miles NNE Charleston, Berkeley County, South Carolina” by Schmidt & Conant (1956-57).
