Holotype: LSUMZ 30390, adult ♂, collected by D.A. Rossman, W.G. Eberle, D. Morizot and A. Varkey on 26 May 1969.

Type locality: “open roadside ditch 1.4 km NW of the small settlement of San Cayetano, Nayarit, Mexico”.
