Terelabrus dewapyle Fukui & Motomura, 2015

Type locality: off south coast of Iou-jima, Mishima, Osumi Group, Kagoshima, Japan, 30°46ʹ32ʺN, 130°16ʹ43ʺE, 72 m depth.

Etymology: The specific name is a conjunction of the surnames of Mr Shin-ichi Dewa and Dr Richard L. Pyle who collected all type specimens of this species.
