- C.E.B. Bremekamp in September 1938: "I have formerly (Fedde Repert. 37: 187) identified this plant with Tarenna macroptera (Miq.) Brem. This is wrong. The plant is more like Tarenna ciliolata (Korth.) Brem., but it is quite possible that it is a distinct species. I hope to [illegible] to the Bornean species of Tarenna at a late [illegible]"
