Mello-Silva, et al. (2011) proposed five genera for this family, but their synonymy of Nanuza and Vellozia has yet to be accepted by WCSP, Emonocot and Tropicos. It also appears as an accepted genus on Index Nominum Genericorum. Therefore the circumscription here has six genera sensu Govaerts et al. (2014) and Talbotia has been removed from the list as it is an accepted synonym of Xerophyta. Andyboorman (talk) 16:04, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
