Note: This tribe is circumscribed sensu lato over. Olmstead et al. (2009) present strong evidence for the paraphyly of Tecomeae s.l and circumscribe it sensu strictu with only 12/13 genera. However, they allocated the other genera to clades not formal Linnean taxa, but this is not consistent with WS policy. Andyboorman (talk) 18:50, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
According to Olmstead et al. (2009) following are members of Tecomeae s.s.; Astianthus – Campsidium – Campsis – Deplanchea – Dinklageodoxa – Incarvillea – Lamiodendron – Neosepicaea – Pandorea – Podranea – Tecoma – Tecomanthe

The clades are found below.
These genera are in the Paleotropical clade tribal affinities uncertain; Catophractes – Dolichandrone – Fernandoa – Haplophragma – Heterophragma – Kigelia – Markhamia – Newbouldia – Pajanelia – Pauldopia – Perichlaena – Radermachera – Rhigozum – Santisukia – Spathodea – Stereospermum – Tecomella

These genera are in the Tabebuia Alliance tribal affinities uncertain; Cybistax – Ekmanianthe – Handroanthus – Godmania – Paratecoma – Romeroa – Roseodendron – Sparattosperma – Spirotecoma – Tabebuia – Zeyheria

However, to resolve this situation at least two new combinations (combinatio nova) will have to be proposed, probably at the tribal level. Andyboorman (talk) 18:21, 16 April 2015 (UTC)
