On page 502 of the original book, Westwood uses the name Lucia epius for the species later used by Moore as the Type Species of his new genus Spalgis. Later on the same page of the original book, the combination "Gerydus Ep." is used, while in Plate 76, Figure 5, the illustration is captioned "GERIDUS [sic] EPEUS". These different combinations and spellings have given rise many synonymies over the decades. However, I use Lucia epius here as it is the first version used and has page priority under the Code.
