- "-fer" is the correct form in classical Latin, but the rules are less strict in botanical Latin. In the appendix of the code, Stenocarpus umbelliferus, Lichen globiferus and Fucus bacciferus are given, so "fer" and "-ferus" are orthographical variants and "-ferus" is not a correctable error. As Wagenitz & Hellwig used Psephellus mucroniferus, their choice has to be followed (Art. 61 ICN). --RLJ (talk) 08:35, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
