Talk:Polemoniaceae

The subfamilies are widely accepted and monophyletic (Johnson et al., 2008 & Stevens, 2016). There is some but not complete consensus when it comes to the tribes (c.f. Porter & Johnson, 2000 & Grant, 2003). It would probably be better to dispense with the tribes in line with Stevens and Grin, particularly as many are monotypic and hence of only minor taxonomic value. However, to be consistent with the family and generic circumscriptions of Porter & Johnson (2000) used on the taxon pages, their tribal classification is retained.
