Synonymy with Vellozia was proposed by Mello-Silva et al., (2011), although they admit the evidence is not particularly strong. The synonymy is not accepted by the other authorities cited on the taxon page and therefore genus is retained on WS, as per policy. Andyboorman (talk) 20:58, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
