Synonym "Cheilyctis Benth."
[edit]The name of the synonym "Cheilyctis Benth." (Labiat. Gen. Spec. 726, 1835) is an error in IPNI. Tropicos is right here, as Bentham described a section, Monarda sect. Cheilyctis, not a genus. See the protologue on page 726. Thiotrix (talk) 06:58, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Then let them know via the feedback form. But please note Bentham places both Cheilyctis Rafin and Coryanthus Nutt. under his Sectio II Cheilyctis. How do you explain this? - Excellent. IPNI are more than willing to admit errors and are happy to change according to evidence. The change/delete will appear in POWO in due course. THey are not as quick to update as IPNI, but also do not include infragenerics or specifics. Andyboorman (talk) 08:03, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
