Note: There are no satisfactory secondary sources, e.g. Tropicos, WCSP and the Plant List, for species circumscriptions and synonymy for this genus. Therefore the species list and synonymy over have been largely created using the research papers found on the reference list. Unresolved combinations and species synonyms have been ignored. Miliusa indica has been retained for the type, as this is still the most commonly encountered compared to M. leschenaultii, its alternative as proposed by Mols and Keßler, 2003.
