    • NOTE: If I consider only the published literature and thereby adhere rigidly to the NOR policy, then I am obliged to list L. mineralis
as a valid species, which I have done, for although it was treated as a synonym of L. arrowi
by Gentili (1981), it was deliberately treated again as valid by Gentili (1997). A complication is that Macfarlane et al. (2010) do not mention L. mineralis
at all, and list only L. arrowi
for New Zealand. However, NOR must be balanced against the risks of perpetuating false information, and so providing that it is clearly indicated as OR, I see no harm in mentioning it on talk pages, particularly in this case where the discoverer died before having the opportunity to publish. I therefore note that L. mineralis
is in fact the same species as L. arrowi
      , and that L. mineralis
sensu Gentili, 1997 is in fact an undescribed new species [M. Hansen, pers. comm. (2000)]
