"Hu" is linked to "Hsen Hsu Hu". However this one is a botanist and not an herpetologist. The right author of this species is "Shu-qin Hu" (1914-1992). On IUCN Bibliography page we can read "Hu, S.-Q., Fei, L. and Ye, C.-Y. 1978. Three new amphibian species in China. Materials for Herpetological Research: 20."
