Taxon merging?[edit]

I am aware that the roots of life taxonomy have been in flux. However, I would have thought the design should be made so that Wikispecies pages appear to be consistent. This page does not mention the regnum level, and has Euryarchaeota as the phylum, but the parent Archaea lists Euryarchaeota as one of 4 regna.

I know that {{Euryarchaeota}} is a template used on pages like this, but should every page such as this not look as follows?

Superregnum: Archaea
Regnum: Euryarchaeota
Phylum: Euryarchaeota
Classes: Archeoglobi - Halobacteria - Methanobacteria - Methanococci - Methanomicrobia - Methanopyri - Thermococci - Thermoplasmata

Can a major taxon (regnum, phylum, classis, ordo, familia, genus) really be "merged" and not listed? I am aware that minor ones (subregnum, superphylum) are sometimes not used. Iph 20:54, 26 May 2007 (UTC)iph[reply]
