calderon Kheil, 1884[edit]
The inclusion here of calderon Kheil, 1884, as a synonym of staudingeri is tentative. D'Abrera, 1986, suggests that Seitz, 1927, includes calderon as a subspecies of staudingeri Druce, 1895, although calderon would apparently take priority if these two taxa were conspecific or synonymous. However, both Seki, 1991, and Eliot, 1992, suggest that the range of staudingeri includes Nias, the type location of calderon. This needs further investigation as regards priority of names.
