The breakup of Pityrodia proposed by Conn et al. (2011), on mainly morphological grounds, is not accepted by all authorities, as they prefer to wait for further evidence, see Govaerts et al., (2015) and Olmstead et al., (2012) . The treatment here reflects Pityrodia s.l., whereas Conn's resurrection of Dasymalla and Quoya, and the new genus Muniria are found as synonyms on its page.
