Note: This subfamily is paraphyletic, comprising the earliest evolving branches of the Fabaceae and from which are derived the monophyletic Mimosoideae and Faboideae (Bruneau et al., 2008). There will be changes in classification, as according to LPWG (2017), this subfamily should be merged with Mimosoideae under the single subfamily Caesalpinioideae DC. Prodr. 2: 473. (1825), which better describes the expanded subfamily. Details have yet to be formally published in the Linnean sense, as Mimosoideae and allies have the working title mimosoid clade until analysis is completed.

LPWG (2017) also report that the conventional tribes can not be sustained and revisions are pending. Therefore they will be removed until publication of further analyses of this subtribe. Andyboorman (talk) 20:47, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

See Caesalpinieae, Cassieae and other tribes whilst changes are completed sensu Stevens (2020). Andyboorman (talk) 19:42, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Mimosoideae is still used as a distinct subfamily separated from Caesalpinioideae. Andyboorman (talk) 18:45, 30 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
