Talk:Asphodelaceae

Asphodelaceae Juss. should be the preferred name for this family as it was nom. cons. prop. against Xanthorrhoeaceae and then was recommended for acceptance by the Nomenclature Committee for Vascular Plants, Applequist, Taxon 63(6): 1362 (2014) (full text available on Ingenta). In addition, Asphodelaceae ought to have preference due to its earlier publication. However, both alternatives are now nom. cons., but Xanthorrhoeaceae was used first in the context of the circumscription of Asparagales (Chase et al., 2009).

The consensus is to now use Asphodelaceae Juss. exclusively (APGIV, 2016 & Stevens, 2019). Andyboorman (talk) 11:42, 10 February 2019 (UTC)
