Biographical note[edit]

Possibly wife of Wlandemir de Albuquerque Cavalcanti/Cavalcante according to [1]: "The name of one of the prominent assistants of A. C. Batista, Wlandemir de A. Cavalcante, appears either as ‘ Cavalcante ’ or ‘ Cavalcanti ’ in the papers; these two names represent the same person and we mention him always as Cavalcante. In one paper (Cavalcante et al. 1972a), the name of his wife (Cavalcante A. A. S. A. S.) appears as one of the co-authors; she never appears as author of any genus or species and it is thus unnecessary to make any distinction between both Cavalcante in authors’ names of the taxa."

Unfortunately the above quote is most likely wrong about Cavalcante's wife (if this is the same person) not being an author of any genus or species: while her name in the 1972 work is given as "Anna Amélia S.A.S. Cavalcante", her name is given more in full as "Anna Amélia S.A. da Silva Cavalcante" in at least another work by the same authors (see the 1973 work in the main page as of writing), making it highly likely in my opinion that the taxon author "A.A. Silva" is the same person! Understandably the authors of the above quote couldn't make this connnection because of the abbreviated name in the 1972 work.
