Notes on subtribal classification

To my knowledge, subtribes are not consistently used by leaf beetle workers within Alticini. According to {{Nadein & Bezděk, 2014}}, most of them are out of date and not used by modern workers. If anything, informal "genus groups" seem to be used more often instead in recent publications (e.g.: {{Ge et al., 2012a}}; {{Nie et al., 2017}}), even if subtribes are still used and created by others (e.g. Nadein's "Febraina" subtribe created in 2013). I cannot find a full list of these genus groups at the moment, though the number seems to vary by publication anyway.

For the above reasons I feel, at some point in the future, maybe the subtribe classification should be removed from Wikispecies, unless it is improved before that happens. Monster Iestyn (talk) 18:28, 24 July 2021 (UTC)
