Name

Synodontis ruandae Matthes, 1959

• Holotype: MRAC 130345.
• Paratypes (14): MRAC 87703-07 (5), 91859-61 (3), 99807-11 (5), 130346-55 (10), 130356 (1).

Type locality: Kagera at Rusumu [1], Rwanda.

Etymology: The species epithet ruandae is derived from its type locality, Rwanda.
