Synodontis macrostigma Boulenger, 1911

  • Lectotype: BMNH 1910.5.31.37.
    • Lectotype designated by Poll (1971)
  • Paralectotypes: BMNH 1910.5.31.38 (1).

Type locality: Southern Africa, Botswana, Okovango River, Lake Ngami District.[1]

Etymology: The species name is composed of the Greek makros (= long), and stigma (= mark, spot), and refers to the relatively large spots on the flanks of the species.
