- Holotype: CAS 225064.
- Type locality: “Kitumbeine Forest” on Kitumbeine Mountain, an extinct volcano in northern Tanzania.
- Synonymised with Strongylopus merumontanus (Lönnberg, 1907), by Channing, Schmitz, Zancolli, Conradie & Rödel (2022: 254).
