Name

Stegonotus cucullatus (Duméril, Bibron & Duméril, 1854): 376. BHL

• Holotype: MNHN 3412, adult ♂, collected by French naturalists Prosper Garnot (1794–183) and René-Primevère Lesson (1794–1849) aboard the La Coquille, between 26 July and 9 August 1824.

• Type locality: “Hâvre Dorey, à la Nouvelle Guinée" (=Doré Bay), West Papua Province, Indonesia.
