Name[edit]

Scolecenchelys brevicaudata Hibino & Kimura, 2015

  • Holotype: USNM 134960.

Type locality: 12°12.35’N, 124°02.48’E, R/V Albatross, between Samar and Masbate islands, Philippines, depth 246 m.

Etymology: specific name is derived from its tail length which is relatively shorter than that of its congeners.
