Holotype: BPBM 16680. [Paratypes: AMNH 39106 (1); AMS I.21379-001 to -003 (1, 1, 1); BMNH 1979.12.11.1 (1); BPBM 13043 (1), 14381 (1), 16648 (1), 16656 (1), 16763 (1), 16773 (1), 17195 (1); CAS 44581 (1); USNM 220884 (1)].

Type locality: West side off Christian's Point, Pitcairn Island, South Pacific, depth 18 meters.
