- Holotype: BMNH 1988.399, adult ♂, collected by Colin and Sarah Tilbury on 12 August 1988.
- Type locality: “evergreen forest at 940 m a.s.l. above the Chididi Police post (ex Mbeu Police post) on the top of Malawi Hill, Natundu Hills Range, southern Malawi (16°55′13″S, 35°11′50″E)”.
