  • Lithobates sphenocephala Cope, 1886
    • Type locality: "in a sulphur spring, near the St. John's River, about three hundred miles from Key West", Florida, USA.
    • Neotype: UMMZ 56130.

This species was briefly transferred to Lithobates by Frost et al., 2006, but was transferred back to Rana by Hillis, 2007.
