- Type locality: MV Alert 1955-08-14 station B.S.191. New Zealand, Off East Otago Coast, Karitane. 45°46′59″S 171°07′01″E / 45.783056°S 171.116944°E. Depth 230–300 fms.
- Holotype: MONZ EC.000517 [1].
- Etymology: named after Elizabeth J. Batham.
